M.C. Hussey rode All Is Not Lost (reserve) , trained by Thomas Cleary (Race 1)

The Stewards received a report from Ms Nicola O’Connor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer, in relation to the failure of M. Halford, trainer of Kings Ryker, to furnish a veterinary certificate in accordance with rule 148(v)(a) following treatment for an active skin disease.

M. Halford accepted that his charge Kings Ryker had been treated recently for an active skin disease and therefore agreed with the findings of the Turf Club Veterinary Officer. He added that he was at the bloodstock sales this morning and had requested his own veterinary surgeon to fax a certificate directly to the racecourse. He accepted that the relevant veterinary certificate should have accompanied his charge when entering the stable yard.

During the course of this enquiry the certificate arrived by fax a short time before the first race.

Having considered the report, the Stewards allowed Kings Ryker to run but reminded M. Halford concerning his responsibility to comply with the content of rule 148(v)(a)
